The American Dictionary

This is where we will periodically post definitions for new words and words that have been given new meanings under the current administration.

1. “Nucular

a. Adj. Of a weapon: deriving its destructive force from the rapid, uncontrolled release of nuclear energy.

2. “Enemy Combatant”

a. N. Those detained by the Bush Administration under “Presidential Military Orders.”
b. N. Those detained by the Bush Administration for allegedly supporting al Qaida or the Taliban directly or indirectly.
c. N. Those detained by the Bush Administration in secret prisons without being charged. They are held incommunicado without Habeas Corpus, the right to legal counsel, the right to confront witnesses against oneself, and the right to remain silent. These people may be subjected to anything short of the new definition of torture (see definition #2.5) during ‘interrogation.’

2.5 “Torture”

a. N. Any action that causes vital organ failure or death, not including cruel and unusual punishments such as water boarding.

3. “Axis of Evil”

a. N. Countries such as Iraq, North Korea, and Iran that seek nucular (see definition #1) weapons to threaten world peace.
*note: Not only is the United States sitting on the largest nuclear weapons stockpile in the world, but it is also violating its own non-proliferation treaties in the pursuit of so-called “nuclear bunker busters.” The Bush Administration used false intelligence suggesting that Iraq was in possession of nucular (see definition #1) weapons to justify starting the war in Iraq.

4. “The Decider”

a. N. President George W. Bush

The term is coined…

The term is challenged by Republican Arlen Spector, Senator of Pennsylvania…

5. “Success”

a. N. The definition of success has changed so many times in recent years in regards to the War on Terror, that we were unable to find an accurate definition. When referring to a war, however, the phrase “mission accomplished” usually indicates success. Unfortunately our mission was supposedly accomplished in Iraq almost 4 years ago and yet our troops continue to die fighting a costly and deadly war.
